Types of string

There are different types of strings available for Tennis. Below is a small guide which may help in deciding which string best suits your game.

Synthetic Gut

This is a good, all-rounder string which offers great value when considering the cost of stringing. It is ideal for club junior players as this type of string provides good power and comfort with suitable durability, ensuring it is strong enough to be used in fast paced games.

Multifilament

This string type is relatively soft, comfortable and provides great power. If you are someone who suffers from a Tennis Elbow or prefer a greater power, then this string type is ideal for you.

Polyester

Polyester string has a very hard texture. This type of string offers players maximum spin and control. If you are someone who is naturally a hard hitter or heavy handed and are looking for more control and spin, then maybe this string type is for you.

Natural Gut String

This is a natural product made from the gut of animals. This string is an optimum performance string which is a mixture of power, control and spin. However, it is the most expensive string and is the least durable. It doesn’t react well in extreme temperatures or wet conditions which can lead to string breakage.
